Shorelark Online Studio — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of classes, courses, and membership through Shorelark Online Studio. Please read them carefully before making a purchase. By completing a transaction, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these terms.

Shorelark Online Studio is operated by Shorelark Online, a sole trader based in Scotland, United Kingdom.

For any questions, please contact us at studio (@) shorelark.org

1. Digital Content & Cancellation Rights

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014, you have the right to cancel a digital purchase within 14 days. However, by completing your purchase, you expressly consent to your digital content being made available to you immediately, and you acknowledge that you waive your right to cancel once access has been granted.

This applies to all single classes, course bundles, and memberships.

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

2. Single Classes & Course Bundles

All purchases of individual classes and course bundles are final and non-refundable.

Because our classes are digital products made available to you immediately upon purchase, we are unable to offer returns or exchanges. We keep our pricing accessible so that exploring a new class feels like a low-risk decision, and we hope you'll love what you find.

If you have any questions about a class before purchasing, please don't hesitate to get in touch — we're always happy to help you find the right fit.

3. Membership

Free Trial

All new memberships include a 7-day free trial. This gives you time to explore the studio, get a feel for the content, and decide whether membership is right for you. You will not be charged until your trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during your trial and you will not be billed.

Monthly Membership

Monthly subscription payments are non-refundable. You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to the studio until that date.

Annual Membership

We want you to feel confident committing to a full year, so we offer a little more flexibility:

  • Within the first 14 days, if membership isn't the right fit, please contact us and we will do our best to find a fair resolution.

  • Between 14 and 30 days, we will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out and explain your situation — we genuinely want to be fair, and we'll consider each request carefully.

  • After 30 days, annual memberships are non-refundable.

Please be aware that when reviewing any refund request, we take into account the amount of studio content that has been accessed. Where significant use of materials has taken place, a refund is unlikely to be granted.

4. Complaints & Disputes

We hope you'll never have cause for concern, but if something isn't right, please contact us in the first instance at studio (@) shorelark.org. We commit to acknowledging all complaints within 5 working days and doing our best to reach a fair resolution.

If we are unable to resolve a dispute between us, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. As a UK-based sole trader selling to consumers, you can also contact Citizens Advice (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) or the European Online Dispute Resolution platform (if applicable) for further guidance.

5. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in GBP (£). Shorelark Online reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes to membership subscriptions will be communicated in advance and will not affect your current billing period.

Payments are processed securely through Podia. Shorelark Online does not store your payment details. For information on how payments are handled, please refer to Podia's Terms of Service.

6. Access & Availability

We take care to ensure that all content is available and functioning as described. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.

If content you have purchased becomes unavailable for a significant period through no fault of your own, please contact us and we will work to find a fair solution.

7. Intellectual Property

All content within Shorelark Online Studio — including videos, written materials, illustrations, and class resources — is the intellectual property of Shorelark Online and is protected by copyright. Your purchase grants you personal, non-commercial access for your own learning. You may not reproduce, share, resell, or distribute any studio content without prior written permission.

8. Your Personal Data

Shorelark Online takes your privacy seriously. Your personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our [Privacy Policy — link] and in compliance with UK GDPR. By purchasing or registering with the studio, you consent to your data being used to manage your account and communicate with you about your purchases and membership.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shorelark Online shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the studio or its content. Our total liability in any matter arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant purchase.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Scottish or UK law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland and the wider legal framework of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the studio following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

A Note from Us

Shorelark Online Studio is a small, community-centred project. Every purchase directly supports the Shorelark community programme in East Lothian. We're not a faceless platform — we're a small, values-led studio, and if something isn't working for you, please talk to us. We'll always try to find a fair way forward.
